Cormany Law PLLC has achieved substantial settlements in a multitude of additional coal mining cases, tractor-trailer accidents and railroad accidents. Below are a few of our verdicts and settlements:

A coal miner's leg was crushed between the frame of a mantrip and the mine rib resulting in its amputation. Cormany Law achieved a settlement in that case in excess of $2 million.

A construction worker came into contact with a high-voltage power line while installing a gutter resulting in his fall from the roof of a house causing him permanent paralysis below the waist. Cormany Law negotiated a settlement in that case in excess of $2 million.

A coal miner was struck by falling rock and coal from the rib of a mine during a pillaring operation resulting in the amputation of his leg below the knee. Cormany Law secured a $1 million settlement in that case.

A truck driver stepped out of his vehicle to check his tires and his leg fell through defective grating covering a 12-inch deep drainage ditch causing severe permanent nerve damage to the leg. Cormany Law reached a $1 million settlement for that claim.

A trees service worker fell 60 feet out of a pine he was preparing to fell causing multiple fractures to his spine and both legs, which ultimately resulted in the amputation of one leg. Cormany Law achieved a $880,000 settlement during the course of litigation.

The operator of a tire changing truck suffered severe injuries to his spine when a multi-piece rim weighing several hundred pounds fell from the truck's inadequately maintained clamping device and struck him. Cormany Law settled the case for $750,000.

A 25-year-old woman gave birth to her first child and only two days later died from an undiagnosed pulmonary embolism, a mere four hours after she was released from the hospital. Cormany Law went to trial and the jury returned a $630,000 verdict in her family's favor.

A coal miner was crushed and killed by a scoop that fell from a hoist that unexpectedly ascended because a safety switch was bypassed by the coal company. Cormany Law reached a $4 million settlement in that wrongful death claim.
